Thought Lightning

Flash of light from cloud to earth.
Thought passed from mind to mind.

Connection
Unseen except by eyes that look
in the moment of transfer.

A secret thing
known only by the knowers,
who smile in quiet joy,
at being seen beneath the surface,
for a moment.

A treasure as rare as a friend who gets me,
who sees what is hidden there.
Such secrets must be
protected always.
A promise made.

In an incremental step toward my goal of making a living by publishing my writing, I've joined Associated Content, which pays, albeit minimally, for content.
